FAQs

I'm new - how do I register my dog for doggy day care?

Just fill in our enrolment form and email us a copy of their c5 vaccination to info@dogshq.com.au (a pic on your phone is fine). Then we’ll be in touch to make arrangements for your pooch to enjoy a day of fun!

Do you put big dogs in with small dogs?

Yes! We temperament-test every dog who comes into the facility and separate dogs into play groups based on play styles and energy levels, not size. It's very important to us to ensure pooches are socialised with dogs of ALL shapes and sizes - just like they'd meet at the park! We're very careful to ensure the safety of our littler pups, so we take lots of care to match the right dogs together in each play group and supervise them constantly.

How many rooms do you have?

We have three huge playrooms, each equipped with built-in tunnels, ramps, platforms and lots of fun interactive toys and games. We also have a dedicated rest areas for dogs who need a bit of downtime, and several holding areas where over-excited dogs can chill out!

Are the dogs constantly supervised?

Yes. There is always at least one staff member in every play room at all times - even quick bathroom breaks must be covered by another employee! This is to ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs, as well as to foster strong, interactive relationships between our team members and each and every dog. And, of course, to allow for lots of cuddles!

Where are you located?

Our centre is on the east side of Hoddle St in Abbotsford, in between Gipps and Langridge Sts. You can park in our Henry St carpark until 10am, after that, there's ample parking available on Hoddle St right outside our doors. Because of our convenient location right near the Eastern and SE freeways, we provide doggy daycare to customers from Melbourne, Abbotsford, Collingwood, Richmond, Clifton Hill, Fitzroy, Cremorne, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Kew, Kew East, South Yarra, Toorak Burnley, North, Brunswick, Thornbury, Preston Northcote, Brunswick East, Alphington, Reservoir, Coburg, Ivanhoe, Brunswick West, Heidelberg, Heidelberg Heights, Reservoir, Carlton, Carlton North and more!

Do you have a separate room for puppies?

No, and this is by design. Socialising with other puppies is great for young pooches, but it's only a small part of the socialisation picture. At Dogs HQ, puppies are safely socialised not only with other puppies, but also with pooches of a range of ages, breeds and sizes - this helps them learn positive behaviours from older dogs, and gives them the broad socialisation they need to set them up for success in the outside world!
